Caroline Pinder has extensive experience of social and enterprise development, in particular gender issues, livelihood strategies and application of participatory approaches. Organisations she has worked for include the UK's Department for International Development, World Bank, CARE International and Concern Universal. Her regional experience covers Southern, Central and Eastern Africa, and Central and Eastern Europe. Caroline was the first director of WISE Development and is currently the Project Manager for EDIAIS - Enterprise Development Impact Assessment Information Service Prior to her international work, Caroline was involved in community and social entrepreneurship, and SME development programmes, in the UK..

Shirley (better known as Gigs) is a librarian with experience in ICTs, web site management and rural information services in developing countries. She has worked for DFID, The British Council, UNESCO, IDRC, WUS(UK), The British Columbia Library Association, University of Papua New Guinea. She currently teaches International Librarianship on-line for The School of Archival and Information Studies, University of British Columbia and the Web-Information Science Education Consortium, and is an on-line tutor in the Certificate for International Development at the University of British Columbia. Gigs is responsible for managing DFID's Enterprise Development Impact Assessment Information Service (EDIAIS, www.enterprise.impact.org.uk) which WISE has managed from since its inception in 2000.

Linda's principal areas of interest include enterprise development programmes, in particular micro finance and ethical development; also developing collective strategies and labour issues. She is also an expert in gender analysis and social development, and participation and participatory development, including grassroots learning and social inclusion/exclusion issues. Linda has worked in many countries in Southern Asia, Latin America and Africa, in particular Sudan and Uganda. Organisations she has worked for include: DFID, USAID, ILO, UNIFEM, HIVOS, and the Open University (UK). She is a well-known academic, and has presented papers at many international conferences as well as publishing in well-known journals such as Journal of International Development.

SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT / GENDER CONSULTANT
Henrietta Miers has spent ten years working as a Social Development / Gender Consultant for international development projects, working with governments, bilateral and multi-lateral donors, and NGOs in Asia and Africa. She has provided input at the policy, programme and project levels. Her worked has covered the sectors of health, education, transport, gender, rural livelihoods and civil society. Her special area of interest is in contributing towards gender mainstreaming policies amongst both donors and governments in the South

Pat Richardson has a wide range of experience in enterprise, economic development and higher education with particular interest in impact assessment, gender issues and sustainable business support services. Pat has worked for public, private and non government organisations within multidisciplinary teams. Recently she has worked with UK's Department for International Development, ILO, and the EU and she has regional experience of Southern and Eastern Africa, the Middle East, Asia and parts of Eastern Asia .

Mary Straker, formerly a Regional Governance Adviser for DFID, is now consulting in Governance and Organisation Development from her base in Zimbabwe and is a member of the DFID Governance Department Consultants Group. She has sound expertise in strategy development, programme design, monitoring and evaluation and works with a wide range of public sector institutions developing policies and strategies to implement and monitor the Poverty Reduction Strategy. She has also worked in organisation development and change management in the UK public sector.
