Worked with a national NGO on the design of information and education material on risks from contamination.

Designed and managed a social assessment into reasons for non-attendance and rising drop-out rates in schools, and the departure of teachers from the profession, for an education reform project. Trained a team of national researchers and supervised the research implementation and analysis. Recommended inclusion of measures to address relevant social issues into the project. Social Assessment into the Effects of the Desert Locust on Poor Farmers, Eritrea and Mauritania

Carried out social research into the effects of the desert locust on poor farmers in order to provide an assessment of the benefits of a global desert locust control programme. Using participatory methodologies, held discussions with poor farmers in areas affected by the desert locust, as well as relevant government stakeholders. OPM / DFID, Dec 2001 – Feb 2002.
